Eggnog Espresso Martini

This is the part where I bore you with a long backstory you absolutely do not care about while simultaneously making it difficult for you to find the actual recipe I’m sharing. But I’m not going to do that today.
All I’m going to say is that we are big fans of cocktail hour in the Raiford House…trust me when I say we earn that cocktail hour every damn day of our lives with all we have going on! While we aren’t always home/don’t have time for pre-dinner cocktail hour, we often decide to enjoy an after-dinner after the kids go to bed cocktail together.
That’s where this eggnog espresso martini was born – from my love of the holidays and my love of an espresso martini that’s holiday-appropriate (and from my husband, who is my personal favorite mixologist).
Ingredients
Vanilla eggnog
Espresso
Bourbon
Kahlua or Baileys
Salt
Nutmeg
Process
Mix one ounce of bourbon, one ounce of your favorite coffee liqueur (we love a variety called Luisa’s from a lovely distillery we toured in Nashville, but Kahlua or Bailey’s also work), one ounce of espresso, 3 ounces of eggnog, and a dash of salt to your favorite cocktail shaker – throw in some ice to keep it nice and cold.
Shake well, and pour into your favorite coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a dash of fresh nutmeg on top, and voila. The tastiest after-dinner cocktail.
Pro Tip: If you don’t have vanilla eggnog, add a dash of vanilla extract to your shaker.
I’ve included links for my favorite cocktail shaker and coupes for anyone looking to add to their personal bar.
