Instagram Roundup

Happy Thursday, loves!

I love that this new year is already off to such a great start. It’s been a few days, and it’s already been one of those weeks when you just sit back and embrace life to the fullest. I basically took the past month off work. Almost entirely other than the two weeks before the kids were out of school where I played catch up and work ahead. Other than that, I’m only doing some contract work for one client until the second full week of the year. The kids are home. I like to be with them. I like to spend time organizing, getting things prepared for a great new year, going to the dentist and the doctor and all those things.

Mostly, I’m just enjoying the laidback mornings. Sleeping a little later. Enjoying a little more. Being fully present. Those are things I value and love, and this year is off to a great start already. And on that note, I’m sharing with you a quick Instagram round-up since it has been a while since I’ve done that!

1

I love, love, love this Likely dress so much it actually hurts. I picked this up a few months ago and knew it would be my Christmas Eve dress, and it received so many compliments! It’s elegant and classic – and it’s perfect. Paired with my favorite Manolos, and I was the happiest mom around.

(I cannot find this exact dress anymore at Saks; they have the shorter one available. I found some similar dresses here and here. My Manolo Blahniks are a few years old, but I love this red pair. Givenchy large sunglasses are sold out everywhere, but I did find these online.)

2

This Topshop sweater is one I picked up a few weekends ago when my husband and I had a date weekend in Tampa for his company’s Christmas party. I can’t go to Tampa without making a stop at Nordstrom and bringing home all the things, and this sweatshirt is one thing I’m glad I took home…in every color. I sized up to a US 4 because I wanted it loose.

Topshop Sweatshirt, Tinsel jeans (my new favorites), Michael Kors booties (old but similar here, Givenchy Sunglasses linked above).

3

This jumpsuit is every single thing. I mean, I cannot even begin to tell you how much my husband loves and adores this jumpsuit. I originally rented it for Thanksgiving from Rent the Runway, and I ended up ordering it to have after I sent it back because he loves it so much. I mean, so, so, so, so much. He cannot keep his hands off me when I put this on, and since he typically can’t keep them off me anyway, this was even better! And these fun little kitten heels are actually like 13-year-old Jimmy Choos that I picked up. Aren’t they fabulous?

Life Lately & An Instagram Roundup

Happy Tuesday, loves!

What about this week is so magical?! I love Thanksgiving. I love opening my home to the people we love, hosting a beautiful dinner, spending the day in the kitchen with my husband. I love so much about it. I’m not even that bothered by the kids being home this week because the weather is so beautiful that they just want to be outdoors, and we are able to work with the doors and windows open. It’s just…pretty. I love it.

Life has just been good lately. I know I say that a lot, and I know my enthusiasm for life probably invites a few eye rolls here and there, but I don’t care. Anyone who has any interaction with me on a daily basis knows there are a few things that Make. Me. Crazy. (safety patrol parents. my sweet little nephew. Science fair projects. Just to name a few). But really, I have no complaints and most of those I do have are pretty simple, so that’s something to be happy about.

This weekend was a good one. It was one of those weekends we didn’t have anything planned – and we needed that. We’ve not been home the past month or so on the weekends, and we were just tired. Every night last week was late…we were just tired.

Thursday night last week was a late one. I went with some of my girlfriends to the United Way’s Little Black Dress fundraiser at a local winery, followed by dinner with some of my girlfriends I ran into at the event. It was fun, but it was also 11 pm before I got home! Friday night was family date night, but the kids asked if we could just stay home for once. We were all about that, so we just picked up Olive Garden to go and relaxed at home for the evening.

We also decided to host an impromptu Gator Game Day party at our house. It was very casual with a sub bar and quick snacks, and somehow our luncheon/game day party turned into an all-day event, but it was easily one of the most fun days ever. Like, the kind of fun that leaves everyone saying over and over “This was the best day!” It really was, and I loved every second of it. Sunday ended with another impromptu plan when we went to a local brewery to judge our friend’s entry and turned it into a date night. He’s opening a brewery of his own in a few months, and we loved supporting him with our best friends…and a great dinner! I don’t care for dark beer at all, but he makes the least disgusting dark beer (but if you do love a dark beer, you’d have been in heaven).

Now it’s Monday. The kids are home, the day is beautiful. I’m cramming a full week worth of work into today, tomorrow, and a few hours Wednesday morning, and I’m kind of banging it out like a Rockstar. And that was with a two-mile run this morning, so I’m feeling pretty good. Which brings me to the point of today’s post – an Insta-Roundup.

Instagram Roundup: What I’ve Been Wearing Lately

Happy Tuesday, lovelies!

The week has gotten off to a stellar start in the Raiford household. My husband and I ran a 5k with our oldest daughter Saturday. It was the first I’ve ever run. We’ve done plenty of 5k’s in the past, but they’ve been obstacle course-type mud runs and such. I’ve only ever walked them, but this was my first time running one. To be honest, it was my first time running more than a mile without stopping – and to be really, really honest, it was only my second time running a mile without stopping.

I run often, but I run like 200 yards and then walk 500 and then run 100 and walk the rest of the way. I hate to run, but I finished 3.1 miles in 35 minutes. I was so super impressed with myself that I’m now obsessed with running and working on challenging myself to go harder, faster, and get stronger. So now my Monday, Wednesday, Friday workout routine has changed a bit – but I’ll never give up my Tuesday/Thursday yoga classes!

I’m behind on my IG roundups, but the weather all over the place is literally all over the place, so I can’t find a real groove in my spring style. So, on that note, here’s what’s been going on in my life lately.

1

{ Jeans, Shirt, Blazer, Shoes, Glasses, Earrings }

This is my new favorite tee shirt, and I cannot even tell you how much I love it! Our oldest daughter’s best friend celebrated her 9 3/4 birthday with a complete Harry Potter theme at the local train station – and her mom did the most spectacular job. So I thought I was only appropriate to sport an “I solemnly swear I am up to no good” tee. Right from Amazon. I love prime.

2

{ Jeans, Boots, Shirt, Glasses }

I am so far behind that most of the outfits I haven’t shared details about yet are from the Book Fair week we had at the girls’ school last month. I know…It’s been three weeks! But these Tory Burch boots are my favorite riding boots, and this tunic is probably one of my favorites. It’s so soft and so warm!

3

{ Leggings, Kicks, Sweater, Glasses }

By the last day of the book fair last month, I was so over wearing real pants. You don’t even understand. I work from home. I’ve worked from home for the past 10 years. I get dressed long enough to take the kids to school and pick them up – and I’m back in my robe the moment I walk through my front door. I mean, honestly. I was so over the wearing pants and being dressed and working what felt like a real ‘job’ needing to be somewhere at a certain time and staying there all day….dressed. So, it was faux leather leggings and oversize Topshop sweater!

4

{Dress, Espadrilles, Espadrilles, Glasses}

I love these Christian Louboutin espadrilles more than any shoe I own. I bought these more than 10 years ago (maybe 12?) and love them endlessly. They are actually my very first pair of Louboutins – and the only pair I’ve ever managed to score on sale! They were on sale for $300 and I was positive I needed them in all their polka dot glory, and I was so right. I love them with this little Old Navy swing dress I just picked up a few weeks ago for like $9. I love a good high/low combination.

5

{ Boots, Jeans, Sweater, Glasses, Earrings

These pink Hunter Wellingtons are ON SALE right now! I love this adorable blue sweater, but I don’t know where to find it for you. I saw it at TJ Maxx about two months ago and totally fell in love with it. Also, if you’ve never worn Hunter boots before, size way, way, way down. I wear a full size smaller in Wellies than any other shoe – and I think they’re a bit large, too.

Instagram Roundup: What I’m Wearing Lately

I have to share a secret you might have noticed; I have such a uniform depending on the season. Also, seasons are impossible in Florida. We had a kind-of winter for a few weeks. Just enough to realize we have nothing appropriate or anything below 60-degrees, and now we’re back to 50s in the mornings and 80s during the day.

It’s so difficult to get dressed in the morning in that situation. Layers are a serious thing right now, which is why you’re seeing me in my ‘this time of year’ uniform. Jeans – or faux leather leggings – and tees with a sweater or blazer over it.

And we can all agree I cannot get enough of these suede BB pumps. I feel no shame.

I’m trying to be a little better about IG roundups on the blog so you can have faster access to all the details you want without yelling at me about it via DM or email (I’m sorry!), and I’m going to try and post one every two weeks or so.

You’re welcome!

1

{ Jeans, Pumps, Tee, Bag }

{Sweater is Old Navy and a few years old, so similar here, here, and here | Sunglasses are Yves Saint Laurent I purchased years ago in Hawaii and are currently sold out so similar here and here}

2

{ Jeans, pumps, tunic }

{see first photo for sunglasses | I just ordered this scarf from Amazon for $15 but I can’t get the link to work. There’s a similar one here, but you can search grey and blue blanket scarf on Amazon and have it in two days for so much less }

3

{ Faux-leather leggings, pumps }

{ Tunic is TopShop from Nordstrom but it’s sold out, so similar here and here | see first photo for sunglasses | Blazer is Forever 21 from like 12 years ago – I know – so similar here and here }

4

{ Jeans, ballet flats }

{see first photo for sunglasses | Hogwarts tee is from Target, but it’s sold out. Similar here and here }

5

{ Jeans, pumps, bag, bralette }

{ These RayBan oversize Aviators are sold out from what I can find, but there are similar here | Lush tee is sold out at Nordstrom, but similar here and here | see previous photo for blazer}

Also – to clarify a question I’ve gotten a lot recently, my Neverfull is the GM and it’s too big. I love it because I have four kids and 700-pounds of stuff to carry around between the six of us. If I bothered with the diaper bag, I wouldn’t carry it. However, I’m entirely too lazy and rushed to change out my bag regularly to be quite honest. I’d recommend the MM if you want a Neverfull.

Instagram Roundup: Winter (in Florida) Wear

Happy Wednesday!

This week has been one of those weeks I adore! Things are getting done, my productivity level is insane, and we have a super fun weekend ahead…all things I love! I haven’t done an IG roundup in a while, and I’m not entirely great at linking my OOTD pieces, so I’m bringing up a few for you here and now. A lot of what I’ve been wearing the past week or so – which is winter wear because we had a week of winter in the Sunshine State – is on major sale, which is a huge plus!

1

{Jeans: 7FAM | Black Tee | Blazer | Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM | Sunglasses: RayBan | Wedges: Michael Kors |Earrings: SugarFix by BaubleBar | Watch: Apple | Charm Bracelet & Charms: Tiffany & Co. | David Yurman Bracelet }

I wore this earlier this week when the temps warmed up just a bit. It was such a nice day in the 60s, but still not cool enough not to throw on a blazer (though I did cheat the system with some open-toe spring shoes). I am a huge fan of these jeans with their raw hem, and I’m also a huge fan of black in the cold weather. A blazer just dresses up basic jeans and tee outfits.

3

{Jeans: 7FAM |Sweater | Hat | Sunglasses: Yves Saint Laurent | Lipstick: MAC D for Danger  | Watch | Suede Heels: Manolo Blahnik }

You know it’s cold when a Floridian puts on a sweater with a cowl neck. And I told you I love these jeans so much.

2

{ Jeans: 7FAM | Sweater | Scarf (gift, but similar here)| Watch | Sunglasses: RayBan | OTK Boots, sold out similar here | Earrings: SugarFix by BaubleBar }

I didn’t even know I owned a turtleneck sweater, my face says it’s cold, and my husband picked up this scarf for me last year and I never thought I’d be able to wear it!

4

{Jeans: 7FAM | Ballet Flats: Tory Burch | Plaid Shirt (sold out, similar here) | Sunglasses: YSL | Minnie Ears: Disney World | Lipstick: Bobbi Brown Old Hollywood }

This is the time of year I am happiest we are annual passholders, and it’s also the time we use them the most. The weather is gorgeous, we don’t die of heat, and everyone is in such a good mood. The parks are less crowded. It’s good stuff. And this was a sweet, sweet family day.

5

{Faux Leather Leggings | Sweater: Michael Kors (old, similar here) | Suede Heels: Manolo Blahnik | Necklace: Old, similar here and here | Sunglasses: YSL (sold out, similar here)| Kate Spade Bow Clutch | Lipstick: Bobbi Brown Old Hollywood }

Date. Night. My husband is the best date night-planner. We do a lot of date nights I plan, but his are the best because he asks me out after he secures a sitter to come over and take care of the kids, he makes the reservations, and he never chooses a restaurant that doesn’t have one of my favorite bottles of wine on the menu (hint: it needs to be a sangiovese). And he always makes it so much fun.

IG Roundup: What I’ve Been Wearing Lately

Hello! It has been several weeks since I last posted OTB, and I apologize for taking such a long break…but it was much needed! I touched on it a bit on a recent #ootd post on IG, but we’ve been out of town four of the past five weekends. To sum it all up, we had two weekends in a row in Tampa, my birthday weekend was spent in New York City, and we’ve been home from a whirlwind four-day visit to Southern California for a little more than a week now.

To say we are tired is an understatement! California is a three-hour time difference for us, it was daylight savings time weekend, and we had a red-eye flight home Monday. 41 hours awake by the time we went to bed the day we got home, and then four nights out of the house following that was just too much for our poor aging souls to handle. Add four kids (and my business and Craig’s job) to the mix and we were the actual walking dead all last week.

We knew it would happen – you only live once, right? We preplanned a weekend at home this past weekend. We turned down several invitations to go out, but we made the right decision. The kids were tired, they missed us last weekend, and we all needed a break. We literally didn’t leave our house all weekend – and it was AMAZING.

We always try to keep our Sundays free of making plans so we have at least one day to rest, to prep for the week, and to do what we want to do versus what we’re obligated to do, but I’m thinking a full weekend of nothing every few weeks could become a part of our lives. I’m refreshed.

Anyway, I thought I might share a few things I’ve been wearing lately as a way of easing myself back into the blog. My business is busy this time of year. My clients want more work, different work, and they want everything yesterday during the holidays, so I’m writing more than ever (which is a lot on a slow day) and every free moment has been devoted to my web content creation. *whew*

 1

{Adelyn Rae Navy Kimono Jumpsuit (I wore size small, but it ran a bit large) | Manolo Blahnik heels (old) similar here | Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM | Ray-Ban Aviators | SugarFix by BaubleBar Earrings from Target}

I fell a little bit in love with this look when we were in the OC. I wore it to #StyleConOC, and the compliments I received were amazing! I also wore it to lunch on the Harbour at the A&O Kitchen at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach. Total win.

2

{Sweater old similar here | Jeans 7 for All Mankind | Manolos old similar here | Ray-Ban Aviators | Scarf (gift from my amazing mother-in-law) similar here }

Anytime it gets a little cold here, I’m all about finding something winter-y to wear, and this sweater is everything. It’s my favorite kind of basic with a little excitement in the unexpected hemline. Fun fact: I wore this sweater all day without a clue it had a giant hole in the seam along my right side.

3

{sweater is sold out similar here and here | Jeans Rag & Bone | OTK boots | YSL sunglasses old similar here }

I bought this sweater for NYC, and I’m in love! And so is everyone else, apparently, but it’s sold out at Nordstrom. Paired with OTK boots and skinny jeans, it’s simple, casual, and easy.

4

{Shirt sold out similiar here | Rag & Bone jeans sold out similar here | Tory Burch Boots | YSL Sunglasses old similar here }

Would you even believe me if I told you that I wore this outfit to go coralling pigs? True story. It was for farm day at my twin’s school…and those pink balloon pigs stood no chance against me and my farm-wear. This top is amazing with it’s tunic-length in the back, but it’s sold out. I’m sorry!

5

{ Top | Jeans | Shoes old similar here | Sunglasses }

Are you sensing a little bit of a trend here? I like casual looks that are easy and simple, and I like to throw on my favorite heels when it’s time for fall and they feel oh-so-appropriate (even though my husband feels it’s ridiculous I ignore all my other shoes for one pair because they “look like the holidays” but hey…he picked my crazy self to marry, so who’s crazy now?). Honestly, I have four kids and a business to run…and getting dressed needs to be effortless. There’s not on ounce of shame in my game.

Here’s to finally feeling refreshed after having too much fun…this week, anyway. Because the rest of the year is jam-packed with fun adventures!

Instagram Roundup: What I’ve Been Wearing Lately

I have been so MIA lately…I know. This season of life is so busy for us! Between Hurricane Irma disrupting life for two weeks, a long weekend in New York City, birthdays, Gator Football, PTA-momming, and everything the fall season brings our way, I’m so busy I find myself unable to breathe some days.

But I kind of like it like that. This month I dedicated five days to the girls’ school book fair, working early in the mornings and late into the night to write 75,000 words that week. Every weekend is pre-booked with a trip or an event, I’m spending two days before the month is out volunteering for festivals and fun at the twins’ school, hair appointments, new brakes, errands, Addison’s three dance classes and her advanced acro class, as well as her newfound passion for wanting to be at school 45 minutes early two mornings a week to participate in the running club; basically this month has 22 working days for me and 9 of them have been/will be spent not in my office working (that’s 135,000) words I need to find time to write outside of my normal office hours.

I’m lying. I really love it. I love being involved in the kids’ lives and being there for all the things they love to do. It makes me happy, even if my husband says it gives me crazy eyes from time to time (eye rolls and laughter go here).

But…that does mean the blog has taken a backseat this month. Sorry, y’all, but the kids come first! And that’s why I’m too lazy to come up with anything innovative and amazing for you today other than a not-so-sorry apology for being a little MIA and an Insta-outfit roundup. And a quick promise to do better.

5

{Jeans | Top | Wedges |Sunglasses | Handbag }

I call this look my “I wish it was cool enough to get away with wearing this and not sweating, but it’s not,” look. Also – you will see this shirt in about 783793 different colors because I have them all. What can I say? When I find something I love, I get them all. This is why I have four kids.

3

( Jeans | Top | Sunglasses | Shoes | Handbag }

Oh look…same jeans, same top, same bag, same glasses. I literally changed the color of the shirt and the shoes and called it a brand-new outfit. I call this ensemble, “Mom Life,” because ain’t nobody got time to get creative when you’re already running late.

4

{ Dress | Bag | Boots | Sunglasses }

2

{ Leggings | Top – It’s TopShop from Nordstrom, but I cannot find it anywhere anymore!| Shoes (old, but I love these!) |Clutch }

Fun fact: This hotel mirror selfie came a mere 10 hours before we were pulling up to the airport at 4 am to catch a flight to NYC on my birthday and I suddenly remembered I left my bag in the hotel. We missed that flight. But my faux-leather leggings are literally the best thing about cooler weather, and my gold and fuschia Manolo Blaniks are two-years-old, but they never fail to elicit at least a half-dozen compliments when I wear them.

1

{ Jeans |Top | Belt (old, but I love this one) | Handbag | Glasses (old but similar ones here) | Shoes }

And I’ve had a few Instagram questions about my front door details in some of my OOTD posts:

Welcome Mat – Personalizationmall.com

Fall Wreath – Wayfair

Front Door Color – Front Door Red (Seriously. I did not make that up. But I cannot remember if it was from Lowes or Home Depot. But it was definitely one of those places).

Prada Marfa Mug – Etsy (just search for it once you’re logged in)

Necklace – I do wear the same necklace all the time, and it’s super old. It’s a Tiffany & Co. necklace my husband gifted me almost 10 years ago when I was pregnant with our first child. When we found out what we were having and chose her name (Addison), he bought the necklace with an “A” charm on it for me (don’t worry – now I say it stands for both Addison and Ava and I have the same charm with a “C” on my bracelet for Carter, Charlotte, and Craig so no one is left out!). It means all the everythings to me, and I only leave it off when I’m working out.
