3 Summer Masks Your Skin Needs, Stat

Summer is here, and we are all spending more time than ever outdoors. From beach days to pool parties to boat days, the sunshine is making us all feel good. But, it’s also taking a toll on our skin. With the changing of the seasons comes a change in our skincare routine. Right now, you’re sweating more than ever. Your makeup is clogging your pores more than ever. You’re getting sun, your skin is being dried out by the sun, and everything is changing.

Summer is a time for change, and it’s not just about later nights, later mornings, and more carefree fun. It’s also about changing your skincare routine, and I highly recommend you incorporate one – or more – of these amazing masks into your skincare routine. I have, and love, all three, and I typically alternate what I’m using throughout the week. I use them once or twice a week this time of year, and I alternate what I’m using based on what I feel my skin needs.

Your skin will thank you for these.

1

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask – $25

I’m starting with my favorite. I actually got this mask as a sample in one of my beauty boxes from Sephora, and I fell in love. It’s so refreshing and hydrating for my skin that I ended up ordering the full-size product almost immediately. I use this mask one to two times a week after my shower. My face is clean, I put this one, go to bed, and wake up with brighter, more refreshed skin.

2

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask – $45

Can you tell I have a thing for sleeping masks? It’s got hyaluronic acid, which is exactly what my skin needs in my mid-30s. It’s also got a gentle exfoliator in it that helps my keep my skin healthy, and it makes my pores shrink. I have larger pores, so this is a great option during the summer. I use this mask once a week – I don’t want to overwhelm my pores, nor do I want to exfoliate my skin too much. No thanks to that kind of redness.

3

GlamGlow FlashMud Brightening Treatment – $59

If there is one mistake women make during the summer, it’s assuming the sun automatically brightens their skin and makes it glow. It’s true that it does make your skin look glowing and gorgeous, but it’s not enough. You need to try for this mask once a week to help your skin look as radiant as possible. Your skin is dealing with a lot of stuff this time of year, and it needs a little help to keep it bright and beautiful. You won’t regret this one, even if you use it once every two weeks.

What’s your go-to beauty mask this time of year?

Buy This, Not That: How to Make Your Outfits Look More Expensive

Happy Friday, loves!

Is it just me, or is this month basically flying by without any real slow down? I cannot believe we are already more than halfway through the first month of the new year, but I guess I should considering how much faster time goes by with four kids than it did before.

I’m loving it, though. This is an exciting year for me and my family with all that we have going on, and it’s so much fun to live through it a day at a time – even if it feels like those days fly by. Since it’s Friday, I’m going to keep this short and sweet and basically to the point.

Y’all know that I love high-end fashion. I love designer shoes, bags, and sunglasses – I’ve been collecting Louis Vuitton handbags since I was 20 (though I’m super guilty of rarely carrying anything other than my Neverfull GM the past two or three years). I have more Louboutins and Manolo Blahniks than most people have clothes. I loooove high-end designer fashion.

Mostly accessories – though I tend to always spend more for designer basics. Jeans, dresses, and coats (that I really only need for our twice-yearly winter trips to NYC). Other than that, I’m good buying the budget-friendly version of most things. If it’s trendy or it’s easily replaceable, I won’t spend much on it. It’s those classic pieces I cannot live with if they’re poor quality.

Because I like to mix a lot of high-end fashion with low-end items, I get a lot of questions about making cheaper pieces look expensive. The truth is that it’s so much easier than you imagine. You don’t need to have designer items to make your outfit look expensive if you’re on a budget. You just need to know how to shop for pieces that don’t look cheap – and how to mix and match.

red coat

Buy A Long Coat, Not A Short One

If you buy a long coat with a classic cut, you can make any winter ensemble look more expensive. Just be sure you’re not buying your long coats from the trendy shops you see on Pinterest or Facebook. You can get a good quality long coat with an affordable pricetag at Nordstrom, Macys, Dillards, and even H&M.

Try this one, this one or this one.

4

Find a Tailor, Don’t Settle

Do not settle for pieces that don’t fit well. It doesn’t matter if you spend $500 on a dress or you spend $15 on it. If it doesn’t fit you well, it looks cheap. Find a tailor. Become her best friend. Have your clothes hemmed and fitted to your body type.

3

Know What You Can Pull Off, And Don’t Be A Victim

So many women look gorgeous in those high-waist, wide-leg culottes. I, my friends, am not one of them. As much as I love them, you won’t find me in them because I know that I cannot pull them off. Know what your body can handle, and don’t deviate from that path. You cannot pull off every trend that comes your way. Know thyself.

1

Wear Pointed Toes, Not Round Toes

I just don’t love a round toe when it comes to a classic heel. If you’re going to look high-end, the first thing you should do is throw on a pair of great shoes, but make sure those pumps have a pointed toe. They’re instantly more flattering because they help elongate your legs rather than making them appear squatty. They just don’t work – and they never look upscale.

1

Think Basics, Not Basic

If you want to look expensive, try the basics. Think wrap dresses, fitted jeans and high-quality tee shirts with a blazer. Add classic pumps to an outfit, or get a few fitted oxford shirts. Keep your jewelry simple and sophisticated. Add a pair of oversized sunglasses. Get a structured bag. Stick to basic colors, and take off that last layer of whatever. Less is always more.

2

Show Off One Body Part, Not All of Them

The quickest way to look cheap is to put every body part you have on display. Keep it classy by keeping everything else modest and only showing off one asset at a time. If your hemline is short, make sure your neckline is high. Show off those gorgeous legs, but keep everything else under wraps. If your neckline is plunging, make sure the length of your dress or skirt is at or below the knee. For example, a plunging neckline in a fitted sheath that hits just below your knees is one of the sexiest yet most sophisticated looks imaginable.

My gorgeous grandmother always told me that you attract what you put out there. If you want to be treated like a lady with class and elegance and attract people of the same nature, dress like one. If you want to attract low-quality people who treat you as such, dress like one. It’s that simple.

2

Remember That You Attract What You Put Out There

Here’s the deal – your personal style choices are just that. Personal. Don’t let me dictate what you wear. However, always remember that you do attract a very certain type of attention when you walk out the door based on how you dress. Keep that in mind, and you’ll always be a step ahead of the game.

Best Beauty Buys of the Year

Happy Friday, loves!

It’s Friday, the kids have been back in school for a few days now, I’ve had some serious quality time with my husband this week, the weekend is officially here; my mood is stellar.

It’s Friday, so I’m going to make this quick and just round up a few of my favorite beauty purchases. I’ve mentioned before – to an extent – how much my skin has changed in the past few years. I hit 35 in 2018, and my skin is still changing. I’ve changed my skincare and even my makeup routine, and so far, so good. I’m really impressed with a few purchases I made in the past year – some after a few fails and some on the first try.

I put a lot of weight into the reviews of a product, and I tend to stick to classics. I’m not a ‘fad’ or ‘trend’ kind of girl in most aspects of my life, but especially not when it pertains to my skincare. I value my skin, and I work hard to keep it looking good. That said, here are a few of my absolute favorite skincare must-haves.

1

Beauty Blender

I just switched from my all-time favorite powder foundation to a liquid foundation in the past year. My skin just couldn’t handle the powder foundation the way it did for so long (though I love, love, love and recommend it to anyone whose skin can handle it before that whole age situation hits). I cannot believe I lived my entire life without ever using a beauty blender until 2018.

But, I also learned that you cannot go the cheap route on the blender. You must buy the real thing, or you’re not doing yourself any favors. This is one tool that will change your life, but the cheap version falls apart, doesn’t handle the job well, and it leaves your skin looking less than flawless. Do not try to save here.

2

Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Charcoal Mask

I’m a weekly mask girl, and this is the one I use weekly. For my skin – pores, *eye rolls* – this is the best. It’s perfect for what I’m looking to achieve, and you absolutely cannot beat the price point ($28). I highly recommend Clinique for your skincare needs – it’s an established brand with a long history of making women feel gorgeous, and it’s one that you cannot go wrong with once you find the mask that works for you.

3

Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

Florida weather is weird, and my skin dries out so hard during the fall/winter months. We also travel a lot, and we spend quite a bit of time in the air. This also makes my skin thirsty. Of all the moisturizers I’ve found, this is by far the absolute best of the best. I use it every single morning after I shower before I put on my makeup. It’s a dream come true.

4

Clinique Smart Night Custom Repair Moisturizer

Nighttime is a great time for your skin, but only if you’re using the right nighttime moisturizer. This one is a dream come true – literally. It’s everything you want at night to keep your skin firm, hydrated, and looking younger than ever.

5

Belief Moisturizing Eye Bomb

I’m going to be honest and tell you I only use this a few times a week. I’m fortunate that I don’t suffer from many fine lines and wrinkles at this age, and my crinkly laugh lines are not something I’m looking to get rid of. But, this is great when my eyes are feeling tired – which they do a lot with four kids and a business.

What are your favorite beauty buys? I’m loving so many these days!

Hostess Gifts to Keep On Hand

Happy Wednesday, loves!

There is nothing I love more this time of year than the feeling I get when the holidays are here. I can’t explain it, but you know what I mean. It’s a feeling of contentment. Happiness and joy and love and excitement. It’s everywhere, and I’m in love.
One thing I always make sure I have around the holidays is a stash of gifts – just in case. Hostess gifts, last minute gifts, you know the type. When the amazing team at Crabtree & Evelyn reached out and asked if I’d like to try out the Hands Delight Hand Therapy Trio, I was obviously on board with that. Ever since, it’s become one of my very favorite items to have and to give.
Since my husband and I always seem to need a gift quickly, we keep a cabinet in our office filled with perfect hostess gifts we can grab and take with us even when we haven’t any time. That includes our favorite Crabtree & Evelyn gift set.

1

Crabtree & Evelyn Lotion Set
This is more than just a little amazing as a gift. First, who doesn’t love Crabtree & Evelyn products? Second, who doesn’t love a gift set with more than one gift in it?! It’s the perfect gift because people actually need it when the weather is cold and their hands are dry – and it smells amazing. Right now, all my readers can use promo code “MASHUP20” for 20% off your entire order – plus free shipping!
Wine/Champagne
Most everyone loves a bottle of something wonderful, so we keep a few of our personal favorites on hand all the time. We love a mixture of price points, too. Everything from a super affordable $25 bottle of red to a bottle of Chandon and Moët that’s pricier, but oftentimes more appropriate.
Candles
During the holidays, I love to keep an array of Bath & Body Works holiday scented candles on hand, but I also love Diptyque candles throughout the year. Why? People love candles! What’s not to love?!
Flowers
The only problem with fresh flowers is that they can’t be kept on hand. If we have time, roses or peonies – depending on the season  – are my favorite go to. If you have time to stop, always go for flowers!
What’s your favorite hostess gift to give or receive? Let me know in the comments!

Weekend Recap & Great Hair Days with Sexy Hair’s New Control Me Thermal Heat Protection Formula

Happy Monday, loves!

I don’t know about you, but I am so excited for the beginning of a new week. I feel so refreshed and relaxed after such a great weekend with my loves. Friday night was all about relaxing and unwinding at home. We were all tired after a busy weekend before and a beyond crazy week, so we put the kids to bed early (at their request) and Craig and I sat down together to watch a movie (Ocean’s Eight, and it was great!).

3

Saturday we woke up to Florida Fall weather. It was 64 degrees, and you know our doors and windows were open! We drank our coffee on the lanai and it rained a little. We took the kids to the Pickin Patch with family, our oldest went home with her cousin for the day, and we partied all night at the annual Boo Bash. We all wore costumes and had so much fun. It was a long day, but Sunday was a much more relaxing situation.

We missed church because we overslept by accident. I think we needed it, though, so I don’t feel bad about it. Craig spent the day outside with Carter – that boy would live outside if we allowed it – and I took sweet Charlotte shopping for the day. The big girls requested that they not do anything, and we were fine that they wanted to spend the day in their bedrooms savoring their time alone, their books, and their tablets.

It was such a sweet weekend. I know I say that a lot, but I believe in appreciating how much good we have in our lives. We are blessed to have lives filled with wonderful friends, family, and good fortune, and we don’t take that for granted.

1

And, I just have to say that part of my great weekend had everything to do with my hair.

Seriously.

No, really.

I had the best hair weekend, and it’s all because of Sexy Hair.

Sexy Hair sent me their brand new “Control Me” thermal protection working hairspray, and it’s beyond amazing. Now, I will say that I am a hairspray snob. I either straighten or curl my hair every day, and I live in the Florida humidity (and on the Gulf Coast, so that means that gorgeous breeze is ever-present). My hair needs the spray, but it also needs a little protection from all the heat.

This is amazing.

Not only does it smell SO much better than hairspray, the Control Me hairspray gave me the most fantastic hold, even though it’s a medium hold. My straight hair was perfect until I curled it, and then my curls stayed put the rest of the weekend – even in the sunshine, the wind, and the rain!

Sexy Hair’s Control Me hairspray defends the cuticle up to 450-degrees, and it gives the most natural hold. My hair wasn’t stiff nor did it feel gross at all – and it does that for 72 hours. I love knowing that I can heat style my hair while still protecting it and keeping it amazing simultaneously.

2

Because I love the product so much, I’m partnering with Sexy Hair to offer all my readers a 15% discount on your purchase at sexyhair.com using promo code ‘SEXYHAIRCONTROLME’. I promise you will love it, so go buy it!

And don’t forget to have the best week ever. I know I will.

Your Next Travel Must-Have: Charcoal Whitening Powder

2

Travel is one of my favorite things, but it definitely has a way of taking its toll on my body and my health. It’s so easy to eat fast food, it’s so easy to say yes to that second glass of red wine, and it’s so easy to drink all the coffee. I’m so guilty of using travel as an excuse to treat myself – and who doesn’t? – and then head to the hotel gym for a two-mile run like that’s going to make up for all the room service Belgian waffles and bacon.

However, the biggest problem I have when I travel is the damage I do to my white smile. Red wine and coffee. Coffee and red wine. We’re having fun, so the glasses of vino are flowing, and I’m exhausted being in a different time zone, away from my bed, and away from my carefully crafted routine, which means my coffee consumption becomes a problem. I’m sure I need coffee intervention, but that’s not the point here, right? We travel often, and I need something to keep my smile in check.

I take a lot of photos for social media and tiffanyraiford.com, and that means I need to be sure my smile is always white, which is basically impossible after 200 trips to Starbucks. I don’t always have time to wear whitening trays or head to the dentist for a whitening treatment. I need something fast, easy, convenient, and portable.

When the amazing people from Avistar asked me to try their charcoal whitening powder, I was excited. I’d heard such good things about this easy way of whitening in the past, and I was hoping it was the answer to my travel whitening needs.

The Avistar Natural Teeth Whitener and Detoxifier with Activated Charcoal Powder changed my travel life. I simply bring it with me on my flights, and I use it every day. The difference is immediate, and it helps me feel more confident in my smile when we aren’t home – even after a gallon of coffee.

The best part is that it’s so simple to use. I wet my toothbrush, dip it into the powder, and I brush for two minutes. After rinsing, I brush my teeth as usual – which helps remove the charcoal residue from between my teeth. My teeth are whiter and brighter, and my smile that much more confident.

3

Tips for Use

Now that you’re ready to change your travel game face (literally) forever, here are a few things I’ve learned to make your whitening experience a little easier and less of a mess (hello, living and learning).

  • Whiten before you put your makeup on, so you don’t end up with charcoal powder on your lipstick
  • Don’t use a lot on your toothbrush. You only need to dab your brush in the powder for a very small layer. A little of this whitening product goes a LONG way.
  • Brush afterward. You can use it alone or you can put it on top of your toothpaste, but I found the best way to use it to make a smaller mess and to have the brightest smile is by using it first and then brushing afterward.
  • Expect a mess – unless you’re perfect, unlike me. Just grab a baby wipe or a Clorox wipe to have on hand while you brush. The charcoal does make a bit of a mess in the sink if you brush like me, but it wipes right up.

If you’re looking for a quick, efficient, and effective whitening method to use on the road, this is it. And you don’t have to reserve it for travel, either. You can use it at home. It’s easy, and the best part is that it has no effect on sensitive teeth. I have sensitive teeth, and I’m always hesitant to try new products. This one is perfect if you want to have the pearliest whites because you won’t feel anything.

It’s a win, but the fact that it’s sold on Amazon.com and you can have it in two days or less with Prime Shipping is a game-changer, for certain. It’s organic, too, so you needn’t worry about putting anything questionable on your teeth and gums.

You can’t lose, so why are you waiting to order?

Chic and Sophisticated: Which Silhouettes Create This Look

Happy Friday, loves!

I hope y’all are as excited about this weekend as I. Today is our daughter’s cheer camp performance to round out the week. It’s Donuts with Dad day at the twins’ school, and that means lots of family time and enjoyment…and a very laid-back Friday night. The rest of the weekend is booked solid with a lot of friends, family, and fun for Father’s Day, and this week was filled with sleepovers at our house. Actually, the last two weeks have been nothing but endless sleepovers at our house, and our kids love that!

My #momlife doesn’t give me as much time as I’d like to dress up and be fancy. Full disclosure – I do get dressed every single day, but I strip down and put my robe back on when I get home from drop off every morning. I’m only dressed to leave the house. I love to dress up, but I also have to plan a lot of my clothes around what we’re doing with the kids and how easy it is for me to carry them and bend down to help them. I always dress up for church. Mostly because I feel very disrespectful walking into church with anything less than my #SundayBest. However, I also dress for church because I love to dress up. Otherwise, it’s date nights and travel that allows me to really dress up!

There’s just something about putting on something feminine and beautiful that makes me feel like a million bucks. So, here are some of my favorite silhouettes when I want to feel very ladylike and elegant. It’s helpful to know how certain shapes lend to a specific look when you’re going for ladylike and elegant.

1

{Michael Kors wedges, RayBan aviators}

The Classic Wrap Dress

You can’t go wrong with a classic wrap. I recently picked up this Lilly Pulitzer Marvista to wear to dinner on my wedding anniversary, and I love it. It’s such a fun twist on a classic wrap with a Lilly Print. It’s so much fun when I want to feel feminine and chic, but also have a little more fun with color and pattern. I also love this fun wrap.

3

{Kate Spade clutch, SugarFix by Baublebar earrings, YSL sunglasses, Christian Louboutin bow pumps}

The Classic LBD

This Diane von Furstenberg is one of my favorite LBDs, but it’s also a wrap dress. That means it wins everything in my book. You cannot go wrong with an LBD, but you have to choose one that fits your shape. It’s also wise to choose a classic cut rather than one that’s trendier. I also love this one if you want to add a little flair to an otherwise classic LBD.

2

{YSL sunglasses, Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps}

The Classic Sheath

I love a sheath, and I think I have one version or another in almost every color imaginable. It’s simple and elegant, and its timelessness makes it everything. This one is my current favorite with its simple cut. And I can’t beat the fact that I picked it up at TJ Maxx for like $40. I also love this one and this one.

Five Summer Staples Under $100

Summer is HERE! Y’all already know this is my least favorite season, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love certain things about summer. I really love not being 100% pasty. That 5% color I manage to hold onto throughout the summer is everything.

Summer means we’re all spending more time outside (wishing the humidity wasn’t a million percent and the mosquitoes didn’t exist), and I have a few things I just cannot live without this season. We are headed to the Caribbean in two weeks, and you can bet you’ll find all five of these UNDER $100 items in my luggage. They’re my favorite affordable summer staples, and I want to share them with you.

1

The Lilly Pulitzer Essie dress is hands-down my favorite style. I have this dress in almost every color/pattern, and I’m in love with it from start to finish. I bought the navy Essie two years ago for our best friends’ Fourth of July party, and I quickly began buying it each time a new style was introduced. The best part – it’s only $98!

2

This Peter Thomas Roth moisturizing lotion is my go-to summer lotion. I cannot tell you enough how much I’ve fallen in love with PTR products over the past year, and this is one that I cannot live without! It’s only $52, and it lasts forever.

3

I have been a lover of my Yeti cups for years now. I know the company is in the middle of a total political situation right now – but I don’t care. I have my own beliefs that don’t always align with those of the brands I shop, but I also love that living in America means we have freedom of speech. To me, this means we get to believe in what we want to believe in and respectfully disagree when our opinions don’t line up with those of others. So – I love my Yetis. We have like 20 Yeti cups in our house, and my most recent purchase was this coral 20 oz. customized with my name. Did I need another 20 oz. tumbler? No. Did I want the coral color? Yes. Prices vary.

4

The Tory Burch Mini Miller Jellies are the BEST flip-flops for beach days and pool days. I can get them as wet as I want, and they wipe right off. I love my regular Millers, but they were not meant to get wet. These jellies can be worn in the rain, the sun, the beach, the pool, on the boat, and anywhere in between. And they’re only $98.

5

The Tarte BB cream/primer is a recent favorite for summer. I always wear a primer and a BB cream under my foundation, but I’ve found that this amazing creation does both – and it’s SPF 30. We recently took our parents and our kids away for a long weekend, and I forgot to reapply my own sunblock throughout the day. I ended up super-burnt all over my body – except my face. This Tarte cream was all the magic for me. The best part is it’s only $37!

Mother’s Day Gift Guide: The Luxe Edition

Mother’s Day is a little bittersweet in our home. It’s a day when we celebrate our moms, and it’s a day when our kids and my husband celebrate me. It’s also the anniversary of the very first baby we lost. We were expecting our second baby in 2010. I was a few months along when I began experiencing some issues – I knew it immediately. Our sweet Addison was almost 2, and she spent the day with my aunt while we were in the hospital learning that our sweet second baby wasn’t going to live long enough for us to give birth. It was the week of our fifth wedding anniversary, and it was Mother’s Day. Our hearts were nothing short of completely broken.

It was the first of two. Eight year later, we are a week away from celebrating our 13th year of marriage, and we have four beautiful babies who make me a mom. It’s a sweet, sweet day. But we never forget.

I love Mother’s Day. I love the beautiful church service every year. I love the big brunch we host with our own mothers. I love the sweet gifts from the kids (my favorites are the cards they make me and the gifts they actually pick out for me on their own…there’s never any shortage of imagination and a gift or two that might just benefit the giver more than the recipient).

When I was thinking about a Mother’s Day gift guide to share, I struggled. It’s hard for me to put myself in the shoes of others on this day. Part of me wants to keep my family all to myself for the day. The other part of me wants to send them all off somewhere while I spend the day at home doing things I can’t do when they’re home – drinking my coffee uninterrupted on the deck while reading a book, for example.

But at the end of the day, as crazy as they make me, it’s being with them that makes me the happiest. We typically go away for the weekend and come home Sunday morning for church and to host brunch for our moms at our home, but this year our oldest daughter has cheer tryouts the evening before…and we aren’t missing that! So, it’s a weekend at home for us.

But, there’s one thing I know for certain most moms will love – something outside the flowers and candy and beautiful meal you already do. What do moms do?

Oh, you know, everything. But what do they not do? They don’t get to spend nearly as much time pampering themselves as they do everyone else in the household. Between wrangling the kids and their schedules, their own careers, and maintaining a household, not much time is left for mom to indulge herself – which is why I’m sharing some of my favorite at-home indulgences. They’re the perfect gift for the mom in your life because she wants to be able to take a few moments during the day to feel just a little spoiled and a little pampered right at home.

But don’t forget the homemade cards and gifts the bunches of flowers that don’t go together at all, but totally represent each child and their amazing little personalities, the sticky little kisses, and the sweet hugs – those are always the best gifts. These are just a sweet second for all the moms who want to pamper the skin they’re in at home.

la mer

La Mer Lifting and Firming Mask

It’s a little pricey, but you can get a smaller jar here to try out in case you’re not certain mom will love it. However, if you have a mom who loves to take care of her skin, you have a mom who will adore this firming mask. It’s life-changing. I promise. Trust me as a mid-30s mama…tightening and firming your skin is never more important in life as it is right now.

jo malone

Jo Malone Red Roses Bath Oil

Full honesty disclosure here – I don’t take baths…and I’ve never used this. I have an unexplainable, unimaginable, weird-as-hell fear of grout and the corners of tubs pushed up against walls. The idea of sitting in the water and possibly having germs touch me…I shudder. You guys, I wear shoes in my own shower in my own home because I don’t want my feet to touch the grout. I know…I know.

BUT…I know most moms aren’t total paranoid freaks like myself, and they love a good bubble bath (it’s actually physically hurting me to even write about taking a bath…I have issues, I know). And I love Jo Malone soap. So I assume I would also love her bath oil. So there.

cannabliss

Cannabliss Organics

When Cannabliss Organics reached out to me and asked if I’d be willing to try their amazing skincare products, I was pumped to try something new – and it did not disappoint. It’s all natural, all organic, all vegan, and it’s really amazing. Basically, the products contain hemp oil and CBD, which works to help our skin grow healthy new cells while also getting rid of the dead ones. You cannot go wrong with the body oil or the moisturizing face lotion. I’m always a fan of a lightweight face lotion, and this one hits the mark.

peter thomas roth

Peter Thomas Roth 24k Gold Hydra-Gel Eye Patches

If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you already know I am a huge fan of anything Peter Thoma Roth comes out with. From his cooling cucumber mask to this gorgeous 24k gold hydra-gel eye patch, I’m a fan. #Momlife ruins your eyes. I mean, listen; I have four kids who all slept through the night within a month of birth and only woke up once or twice a night to eat before that. I never went through the whole sleep-deprivation situation, even when the twins were newborns.

But, you guys, I’m always tired. Kids are just exhausting even on 8-9 hours of sleep per night. I’m always moving, always busy, always on. And the bags under my eyes are definitely not designer…at least, not until I discovered this gem. My eyes look brighter, firmer, and less mom-like as a result.

You took your mom’s bright eyes away from her, but the great news is you can gift them back with these sweet eye patches. Do it. She’ll thank you. Also, you probably owe her.

dipytique

Diptyque Candles

If you really want to get mom something that makes her feel all kinds of luxurious and relaxed, try Baies or Vanille from the Diptyque collection. These are my two favorite scents, and you’ll see I always keep one in my master bathroom to make the entire space feel more spa-like and inviting while I’m getting ready in the mornings.

Here’s the deal; Your mom is going to love any and everything you give her for Mother’s Day whether it’s a long weekend getaway or a day at the spa or breakfast in bed and a day of fun in the sun at home. She loves you, and that’s what matters most. Makeup Primer: Worth it Or Skip it?

1

Happy Monday, loves!

This week makes me a little nostalgic every year. It’s the week three of our four babies have birthdays. Miss Ava turns 7 on St. Patrick’s Day, and our sweet, sweet babies turn 4 on the 15th. We’ve never had a “youngest” child turn 4 before. Our babies are all three years apart – except, obviously, for the twins – and the fact that they are our youngest and turning four this week is just heartbreaking. Time, slow down!

Also, just a quick note to point out I dislike daylight savings time. I like the shorter days, the darker evenings, and the lighter mornings. I recognize I’m the minority, but I really dislike this time of year when it’s daylight all the time. It just feels hotter and less like my favorite time of year.

But on a much happier note, I posted an Instagram story a few weeks ago with my new primer, and I had so many questions and comments about it. Not only did people want to know if I loved it, but so many women wanted to know why use primer, is it worth it, and what’s the point.

Primer – Can’t live without.

Primer is simple. It’s a base for your foundation. It goes on before your makeup, and it helps your makeup spread evenly (and it helps it stay put a lot longer than it does without). I’m very particular about my primer due to the fact I have pores the size of Texas.

I love primer, I always recommend it to anyone who asks what the one thing is I can’t live without (I can’t live with more than one thing, to be very honest), and I have four favorites I alternate between for different reasons – and they all make my pores look non-existent.

  1. Origins Original Skin Pore-Perfecting Cooling Primer

This is my newest primer, and it’s amazing. It’s spectacular when it goes on not only because it’s so light, but because it’s so cold and refreshing. I love this one when I’m doing my makeup early in the morning and need a quick wakeup call. It’s light, it lasts all day, and it makes my pores shrink instantly.

  1. Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance

If you’re going out at night and want to look perfectly dewy and fresh, this primer is the answer to all your life problems. It’s my favorite for looking glam at night, but I don’t typically wear it during the day. It’s perfect for night because it’s just a little shimmery and provides my skin a perfect glow, but it’s sometimes too much during the day.

  1. Dr. Brandt Pores No More

If you want my favorite primer of all time, it’s this one. It’s my go-to most of the year. It’s perfect in the summer when the weather is hot and my face is a little oilier than usual. It doesn’t dry me out, and it leaves my pores looking non-existent.

  1. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

Anytime my skin is too oily, this is my go-to. It’s oil-free and amazing, and it’s my favorite primer when I want my skin to look as flawless as possible. I just can’t use it when my skin is a little drier in the winter/spring here in Florida because it doesn’t offer as much moisture.

I love a good primer, and I swear by it. I can always tell if I accidentally forget my primer when I do my makeup because it looks less than ideal after an hour or so. I can put on primer and look fresh and amazing all day long. Without, I’m good for a few hours.

If you’re on the fence, I’d start with the Smashbox. It’s my favorite, and it’s so good on so many skin types. It’s totally worth it to add an additional step to your morning routine.
